RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

For those interested, my review of the Gee Bee Z will be in the March Flying Models magazine, complete with a gorgeous cover shot courtesy of a field buddy.

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

Mine weighs in ready to fly (less fuel) at 10.5 pounds. With a Pitts muffler and 2,700 mAh 6V Ni-MH battery mounted on the tray above the motor, it balanced right on with no lead. I did use one of...

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

The 1.60FX would probably be the perfect motor. Forget the 26cc, much less power than the 1.60. I built mine per the instructions and did not have to replace anything. Easy build, everything fit...

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

I doubt the 91FX will be enough. I have a 1.20NX in mine, and it flies it pretty good, but it just balances with this motor. You would probably need to add nose weight and performance will probably...

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

What is your all-up weight? And what is your c.g.? Mine has no such bad habits. On down wind runs don't even touch the elevator? I horse mine around with no snaps...flies like a 4-star 60....

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

I'm curious how others who have the oleo struts attached the flying wires. The only way I could figure it was to unscrew the gear forks and then put the looped ends between the leg and fork, screw...

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

I trimmed mine, then taped them in place. Then I bolted the wing on tight to set the fillets. I re-taped them with lots of tape and removed the wing. Then I CyA'ed the bottoms of them that touch...

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

I balanced mine at that mark, upside down. I have a few flights on mine and it feels fine. Just remember that it is not hard to land, it just likes to be landed gently.

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

R/C Foolish: I am surprised your 1.20 wasn't enough. My Evolution 1.20 pulls mine vertical while still new and running super rich. Maybe the loose head robbed your power? I had an OS 1.60 in my...

RE: Seagull Gee Bee Z

Maidened my Gee Bee today. This is the newer version with oleo struts and one piece wheel pants. Evolution 1.20 with a Pitts muffler and on board glow, 16x6 prop. I mounted the engine at about 5...
