RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

Moki 1.8,

I would think the geometry would be all wrong if a servo was able to be mounted on the firewall with a rear mounted carb. As willig10 said, I also mounted my throttle servo in the...

Moki 1.8,

Don't use the glow stopper with gas. The gas will dissolve the stopper.

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

mobyal,

The squeeky wheels are becoming the trade mark of the TC. I no longer have mine but I do remember all the comments whenever I would do a touch & go, "What was that", "You need some...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

willig10,

I always post my planes in the RCU Classified ads and through our local club. They always sell through one ad or the other. I aways sell my planes with everything, just drop in your...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

I used blue loctite on my wheel pants and have not had a problem. The TC is a very nice flying plane but like all my other planes it's time to sell it and move on to another project. I hate to see...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

I used HS-645MG servos on all flight surfaces.

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

It's still there. Just haven't had time to do much flying. Work keeps getting in the way :). I'm still looking to get a video whenever I can get back out to the field.

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

capt'n,

I've been flying my TC since late last year and I am not looking to get rid of it any time soon. Since I lost my Rascal 110 due to the wires breaking off the gimbal on the right stick...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

willig10,

I wouldn't use any CA for the weights. I'd wrap it in form big enough to where you have to force it into one of the cavities. The foam doesn't weigh anything so you can wrap it...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

willig10,

I can't remember the exact dimension I set mine at but I'm thinking I have my CG set closer to the 4' mark and my plane was slightly tail heavy and that's were I fly it at. I used no...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

I can tell you what I normally do. Set the CG where you think is good to the manual and then make it just a little more on the nose heavy side just to be safe for the first flight. Once in the air...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

willig10,

Now that is a bummer dude. Well, better to wait then take a chance on doing any damage to your plane. Running the line off your carb back inside the fuse really does not come into...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

Guys,

On one end of the tail braces the eyelets were very soft metal like wire eyelets and the other end was brass. When I got the replacement parts in I used the brass eyelets to match the...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

Old Fart.

If you look at the pic, I used my cone shaped stone in my drill and started grinding out the area's where the arrows are. I keep working both sides equally and as you go along and...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

IIMAC,

Nice looking plane you got there :). From the pic your upper tail braces look very big and they look like the ones that go on the bottom. I just used a Tru-Turn spinner and started...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

mobyal,

That's a pretty small prop on the OS 120AX. I've had three of these engines and always ran and APC 17X6 and it would turn around 9500 rpm. If you want to run an 8 pitch prop I'd run...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

We have an 800' grass runway and a 600' concrete runway and I alway like using the concrete. Indeed the TC is very stiff and if you don't nail your landing it will bounce a lot. Like leedees said,...

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

The video I saw with the TC flying with a Saito 125 flew scale and looked ok. Your OS 120 should be about the same. There wont be any extra power if you get in trouble.

RE: It's here and Looks GOOD new Hangar 9 Taylorcraft

leedees,

I had the over heating issues with my DLE 30. I had to experiment a little on the maiden day so I started using packing tape to slowly block the opening. I had one side totally...
