The Perry is (generally speaking ) a much more precise carb. Some guys like 'em... some don't. I have had quite good luck with them. An in-line fuel filter is strongly...

There were a couple of Veco .45's for sale here in the RCU Marketplace...might still be there?

Or maybe a Perry carb on the S.T. .56?
#1400 has a .550 neck and .270 venturi.
