I think Evan (pimmnz) once posted this picture. If I remember correctly, it shows a young Wolfgang Matt and some British cracks (Brooks etc.) watching.

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

This thread is the right place to search (ask), but it's just too long! The pics are from it, the first two Oct 2009, the third Feb 2009. I have them on my disk but don't find them in the thread...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Look at Ray's post #828 on page 34. The whole article was not known so far...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Yes, back in 2008/2009 we thought that there must have been a reeds set in the T2, but also both analog and digital proportional. After all the first propo in 1963 was analog and even in the 1964...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Ah, hope you were successful! :D

I think it was all on page 15 of the thread. In post #361, Ray posted a pic with the caption insinuating it's the new Orbit proportional set. So the T2 should...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

I wonder why these questions come up two weeks after the initial post with the video, but anyway... [:o]

It was always only an assumption that Ed used the new proportional radio. That was...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Ray did answer this question in post #647 at page 26. I think if Ed was on the carrier he was at the Nats as well, even if he didn't enter the event as a competitor. The movie is another indication...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

It's the same video by Sid Gates that I referenced recently (post #2482 above).

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Hi Duane, there seems to be another piece for the Taurus timeline in Sid Gates' video. Look at 10:45 for Ed, assisted by Jerry Nelson, at the 1963 Nats. That should be your T2 with the older swept...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

The 13x7-3 Master Airscrew is well possible, but it seems a bit small and has much less thrust than a 15x6-2 APC. Graupner recommends a 14x7-3 Graupner prop for the OS 91 FX. Would have a bit less...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Know what you mean Evan and fully agree. The model is even hard to spin, but with ailerons it should be possible to spin and even snap it. That's why I thought Kevin does it that way. Of course I...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

That kinda absorbs me. ;)

Just tried in the simulator and here's what I think about it. I'm surely not that good at pattern as you and not a competition pilot at all. I see the matter from a...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Congratulations from me as well! Really great, especially the low weight stands out. Did you use special balsa or is it just the film covering? Wing loading has to be a bit less than 16 oz/sqft,...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Well, nothing about a trip to Germany, but about the trip to Japan and actually quite confusing, read just this. (Compare posts 1, 3, and 6.)

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

Yes Duane, was out there in Deutschland and could only read RCU. Now back at home I found something washed up here and yes, there's the magazine and the DVD. Thanks so much, it's just great!

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

The "Flop" may be forgotten here but it's not that unknown to us as we might think now. Look at post #1178 page 48 and you'll se that the other picture wasn't bad at all and all that is posted now...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

63" wingspan and built for the 1965 WC, that should mean the 79" Super Delphin is later than Simla. Interesting is the blunt leading edge of the Delphin airfoil, that seems to be not the special...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

Sorry Bo, I don't know of any plans. Even that "kit by Fritz Bosch" seems a bit obscure. Maybe he meant kit by Simprop since Fitz Bosch was Simprop's CEO back then. I agree the Super Star looks like...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

Hi Duane, actually not a predecessor but a contemporary of Simly might be the Super Delphin, designed by Fritz Bosch and flown by Wolfgang Matt at the 1967 WC. Since we know that the WC participants...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

Thanks so much for this flight report. I'm glad the simulator was spot on. I knew that a smaller engine would be disappointing, I just think it would be more true to original provided you'd maintain...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

Yes I know how hard it is, the same in the simulator (or even harder, you can't move the model by hand). One difference might be the dihedral, if Ed had set 4 degrees.
