RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

I can't just help to notice that sleek, skinny fuselage and that very big tail! You can see where Simla came from.

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Here are some photos of the Hartman Zeus Mk. III plans from AMA. You can see the Kazmirski influence with a 19% symmetrical airfoil, 74 inch span, .61 power (Veco), Taurus- like stab and King Altair...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

If anyone is interested, AMA has the plans for Dwight Hartman's Zeus Mk. III. It looks somewhat similar to the King Altair plus some Kazmirski influence (swept leading edge, Taurus style stab,...

RE: Ed Kazmirski's Taurus

Thanks for the great article Steve, I'll need to check my old ST's to see if any have SPI in them. I can vouch for the muffler on an SPI engine, the power output was terrible. I had a ST .23 with...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

The SPA Antique class can cross over to the Vintage R/C Society Class III pattern events. Airplanes must conform to the plans and use engines not larger than .61 or four stroke .91. Most all VR/CS...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

Kavan supplied after market carbs and mufflers; both of which are long out of production. MECOA purchased the remaining Kavan engine stock and still market the 4 stroke, four cylinder engine. Have...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

I have replaced the original ST carb with a Perry and had excellent results. If you can find a Kavan to fit, that is a good one also. For as good as those engines were, ST just couldn't seem to get...

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

Ok, so where do the Model Airplane News plans fit in this question? Are they the same as the kit plans or are they based on the Meyer drawing? Or, are they a mix of the two?

RE: Ed Kazmurski's Taurus

My dad had a Hartman Zeus with a Taurus wing and tail. It was an excellent flyer with a Veco.45; it pretty much flew like a Taurus but it was at full throttle all the time. So..... by installing a...
