Duane I just checked my Kit and my plans and the bottom is V thats why he used the wood lenght ways by the way I build my scratch the same way you did just seems to make more sense.

No doubt Ed changed things at will I think thats why he built the Silma the way he did ie wings that could be changed at will. I think we should just pick one as we may never know how many versions...

We are getting closer, but we have to decide on the type of construction, on a Taurus Ed used off set spars with no shear webs but the Simla has plug in wings with 4in dihedhal so we need to come up...

I use Lion's they are 100% safe and they are good to around a 1000 cycles the down side is that they are a little heaver and 1/10 of a volt less but if you need all out power just go up one more S...

I think Ed stayed with the airfoil beacuse of the radio equipment of the day, if you have ever flowen a reed radio you will know what I mean, you want all the stability you can get things move really...

Mine was 6lbs and had a Gold cup 61 in it. The CG was just ahead of the landing gear block if you pushed the tail down it would stay down.

Hi guys sorry for the slow reply W1 is 11-3/16 but you have to add 3/32 leading edge sheeting and 1/8 trailing edge square, W12 is 7-5/16 plus the 3/32 leading edge sheeting and the 1/8 trailing edge...
