Default My new 1/10 beast

I turn 50 in a few weeks and the opportunit
y to get a 1/10 handmade Jagdpanther arose! And my awesome wife got me this beauty!

I know 1/10 isn’t a popular size here but it is great , it’s big but not huge! It still weighs quite a bit. It’s hand made by a guy in Holland about 25 yrs ago. 24 volt the motors have some power. No sound or smoker yet. That is my goal smoke and sound and I will be happy, no need to shoot anything as it is not it’s set up to shoot blanks , and probably not a good idea. It’s quick I should have a video soon of trails at the park near my house. Anyway blah blah lol here Are some photos.

You’ve got something to figure out though (assuming your wife isn’t yet 50): how are you going to top that gift?

More on topic: I think 1:10 is a great scale. Would go there if it wasn’t for the state of the marketplace. 1/6 too unwieldy for me, but expect 1:10 is easier to load/unload from the car.

I'd like to see the cart. Might give me ideas for my Hetzer. Given the difference in size between the JP and the Hetzer in full scale, a 1/10 JP might be close to a 1/6 Hetzer.

Here you go Gary. The sides are removable also. It was $90 at the local hardware store. The brand is gorilla.

Very nice find indeed. That is a very well done model. Actually 1/10 is quite popular in Germany, a few places sell parts and components. Definitely not that popular in US. It is a great scale for tanks, not too big but big enough.

But great find - its still a beauty of a model.

I use a cart like that for my 1/6 models - Amazon sells them for $80-$120 depending on capacity (load capability).

Bob

Dang, 4 speakers...that thing makes some noise in that all metal tank (like a huge metal speaker box). Wiring looks pretty heavy duty too. Very cool. I always loled to see how other people design the interiors. Great pictures, keep em coming!

Welcome the the 1/10th owner's club. Très chic and quite exclusive here in the States!

Now perhaps I'll have someone to run with seeing as you're just across the way.

That is pretty well made. I would recommend Thomas Benedini for a sound card (TBS mini). Perhaps a Clark board - But wiring either up will be a major project / issue as you are dealing with non standard electronics. I would have thought the model had some kind of sound card with it - the four speakers aren't connected to anything? What is in the triangular shaped alum box? I would think the motor/ speed controller it looks like.

The last two photos look like some kind of blank firing device. Very cool! Any indication of the type of blank used?

Nice model.

It is indeed a very cool tank, but it's the cat in the first photo that caught my eye. What a beauty.

If ever I've seen a candidate for an OpenPazer board this is it.
Extensible power configuration and totally customisable I/O functions.
24V with brushless and you could tow your car with it

I have been reading up on the open Panzer board. The wiring is not standard, I will take some photos of the wiring setup tonight. I would like to hear any feedback or suggestions
oh and yes it is set to shoot 9mm starter blanks ! However I won’t be using that. I may remove that even.

1/10 is too small for paintball, will you use some kind of LED muzzle flash? Personally I'd look into keeping the 9mm set-up, and looking for someone to load blanks with black powder. Smokeless powder just wouldn't give the same effect.

Any gun powder, black powder particularly and aluminum is not a good combination. Quite corrosive.
If you've ever fired black powder arms you know what I mean. Partly the reason why upon firing black powder
loaded cartridges the recommendation is to immediately throw the cases in water. And it isn't to soften powder residue...

And in California with it's paranoia of anything remotely gun_like I really wouldn't recommend it at all.
