Already mentioned on this forum but I think Rebel Hot deserves it's own thread. For now it's just announcement pics and specs, but going by the success of the Rebel and Rebel Pro I think there'll be some build pics and footage before long.

There's video of the Rebel Hot flying on Facebook: Hopefully something will go up on Youtube for folks who don't have an FB login as I am not able to embed FB video in here for some reason.

Mauro comments that the jet is flying on a Kingtech 45 in these videos. They're also using an Electron retract set - ER30 based, new combo I suppose. Servos are Graupner DES 678 BB MG .. 7,5 kg at 6 Volt. dimensions: 32 x 33 x 16 mm

Just looking at this picture, the battery tray in the nose is empty. The K45 very agreeable weight for CG balance. Although it exceeds the recommended power limits I guess the K70 is a no brainer! Another option could be the new K85G or maybe VT80 at a push. The batteries can easily move forward to get the required CG. But for a nice relaxing and easy flier K45G seems to be a great option.

It has ailerons but I can see how in the picture it might look like it doesn't. The Rebel has an all composite wing the ailerons are top hinged so the gap is underneath, the flaps are bottom hinged so the visible gap is on top. There's a special super strong but thing cloth laminated in to the wing that functions as the hinge. There are pros and cons to this approach but quite a few manufacturers do it that way.

I like it! I have two K45's. We need to see more reasonably sized new planes. Bigger and bigger isn't necessarily better or safer.

Yes that is what I am thinking too, although the newly announced K85G could also be very interesting for folks like me that operate from grass runways and could do with the extra ooomph.

Mini Avanti S on K45G is excellent, really super power to weight ratio. Would like to achieve something similar on the Rebel Hot if I go that way..

I think you are right assuming the price is reasonable. I work in composites and while I have been hoping for some nice smaller models I also understand the reluctance. The truth is that that for the most part material is a small portion of the cost of an airplane. It may use half the material but it could very well take 90-95% the same labor as a 3 meter jet. In fact, we have found cases where smaller parts actually take longer because of working in tight spaces. The first reaction is to assume they can sell 3 times more to make up the profit margin but then you have 3 times the customer service, etc. Let's hope it is a huge success and will encourage others to get in the small jet business.

Electric gear & brakes please.

Pirotti worked with Electron Retracts so yes it's electric gear and brakes. You can see in the photos they are Electron ER30. Weight is about 75grams per retract (no leg). I'm trying to get more information on the combo and will update if I get something through.
