With this one being a plain white kit it has presented a few extra challenges but I'm getting there. I don't have a cockpit or ordinance. Would like to have at least the inside pylons and wing tanks. If anyone knows of a used set of "stuff" and a cockpit please let me know. SM wants a fortune for new. If I cant find a cockpit I will make a stand off...way off cockpit and fly it slick. This is planned as an everyday flyer from grass. I haven't had any performance problems from flying on our grass field in the summer heat. Next test flight is planned for tomorrow. I really like the way my doors turned out now....just hope they work better. If all problems are resolved this week I will start getting it ready for paint. My old sqn 62 TFS and try to get it ready for SJS. If not I may just fly it there raw. If it performs well no one will notice it wasn't painted. BTW I like challenges...winter project is a Avonds Fouga. Large box of sticks with very few instructions.

3 good flights today. All gear and doors worked well on #1. 2&3 mains didnt come up all the way. I think it is flow through jetronics and the length of time for the up cycle. A new hi flow valve arrives tomorrow and should fix it in any case. Took out some of the full flap to help prevent pitch over. Overall I think it is time to start paint prep. Flies much better than I ever expected.

I am just about ready to start mounting pylons and ordinance to my Phantom. Does anyone have any good measurements or diagrams for pylon placement? And, should I expect to find wood blocks in the wings to mount them to, or will I need to come up with my own mounting method?
Thanks
Thanks

Kevin W. On the one pictured I had to hysol hard wood dowels inside the wing. Be careful as there is a spar close to the measured locations pictured. I had to drill tiny pilot holes to find spar. I think they are not set up with jig so a little different with every model
The front hole on the inner pylon hit the front spar exactly. Thanks for the heads up about the tiny holes first.
I am going to drill new front holes in the inner pylons about an inch in front of the old ones. That will get the dowels in front of the spar, but I will have to open up the pylons in order to add another wood block for the screw(s) to go into.
