I would agree with you 100%, but there's more than one way to skin a cat....I found this on line, its the decal sheet for 1/72 scale SU-27....scan it into the computer enlarge it and fix the blurred lines, save it and use a vinyl cutter to cut out the patterns, use the stencils for each color.

ok, spent all day sanding her down and prepping for paint...Glued the rudder spars in and the main wing dowels...Very cautious sanding(with scotch-brite), because her skin is sensitive, not like fiberglass which is more forgiving...Same as the Mig-29. Got rid of the mold lines. Paint arrives Monday...So stage 2 would commence.

I have also received my Su27.
The quality is in my eyes the best I ever seen. The landing gear is a bit tricky to assamble but is done it works perfectly.
For the nose gear I did some changes.
1. I added a dummy cylinder out of alu tubs and 3d printed the cover.
2. the original front wheel is with 76mm diameter a bit too small in direct comarison to a side view drawing. so I printed this as well (now 98mm diameter) with some issues an a lot of scrap on the tire. now I found a good process/material for this.
3. the fender I think is a must for a SU27. that was a lot of work to design it from scratch (from pictures), but the result I like

no, the light blue unfortunately is the primary color on the 1/72 scale model which is painted on first....since i'm painting the patterns in a negative, i have to paint the grey first, then the dark blue, and lastly the light blue...i know light colors come first, but in this case i only had the grey and dark blue. An additional reason why i went this route was because the jet has lots of curves, which force you to cut the wrap in order to fold around the fuse.
red line shows splice marks...

I agree, if u look at the nose gear on the prototype, they had the actuator and the door, like an F-14 or F-18....i told comp-arf about that, but they get their gear from matrix... http://home.earthlink.net/~matrixmt/

I'm like a little kid, cant wait for the paint to dry before pealing away at the masking tape.....LIKE CHRISTMAS!!!...Gentleman what we have here is the completed painted bottom of the Ukraine digital camo SU-27 from Comp-Arf...Sorry for the dramatics....thought you guys would get a kick out of it. You guys finally get to see all three shades of blue around the tail section....and the horizontal fins that have digital camo trailing from the rudders..intake ducts painted like the full scale..
Got my 10 Savox 1270TG 7.4HV servos (478 oz) from skip RCU member, great deal...just missing my rudder and steering servo...
