Ok guys, I've had to step in here now and police some of the posts in this thread. I have no problems with people getting passionate when they discuss this issue, but what I do have a problem with is when people start attacking those that  they don't agree with. I've had to remove posts such as this already, but if I have to do it again I'm going to start dealing with them in a more harsh manner.

If you can't discuss this matter without resorting to attacking those you don't agree with then I would recommend that you refrain from posting here.

I was in the states only a few weeks ago and the most amazing thing happened. I told a colleague I had a diesel car in the UK. He literally laughed his head off, going round the office telling others. His argument was why would anyone want one of those slow, noisy, smokey engines. There was literally no point trying to explain to him that diesels haven't made smoke for around the last 5 years. Whats more they are not noisy anymore due to new injector technology, and their power output now exceeds that of an equivalent petrol engine (albiet turboless). I guess $9 a gallon in europe causes improvements like that. I was reading other posts about American made technology being superior etc. etc. (specifically castle creations ESC's). Which I found ironic due to their recent worldwide recall of the ICE 120 HV due to the fires they were causing and subsequent destruction of carbon fibre 3d helicopters (google it if you like). My point is lets not jump to conclusions. This particular forum is really fast to bash new products (especially if made in the far east).I am not trying to bash US citizens with sweeping statements (sorry if it reads that way) but lets be open minded. A turbine is basically a simple device with only a few key parts (requiring aerospace levels of quality control). If they can nail those parts, then it only depends on the after sales service. They are making assurances that parts and servicing will be available.

I for one will be keeping an eye on its reliability, and after sales care. If it stands up I may consider getting one in the future. What I won't be doing is expressing my opinions without any idea of the product performance, or after sales care (which I concede is critical for turbine ownership).

Amen to that! I rented a small car to go from Barcelona to Nice last summer. You have to pay 350 Euros to the rental company to have someone drive it back. At the counter the employee asked: You are going to Nice? I can give you a huge upgrade and you save the 350 euros because you will drive a car from Nice back to Nice. Of course I accepted. It was a Citroen fully loaded. C5 (I think) amazing car! Sets the power brake for you, folds the mirrors when done driving, and detects proximity on 6 areas, and it shows you where you are getting close... The power is unbelievable, does not stink and is much more quiet than my Mountaineer SUV...

Well said Pete,

And from me,

the ludicrous suggestion that common people will be rushing out and flying cheepy $1000.00 jets around school yards etc is just plain silly. Has the advent of affordable 50cc + petrol engines been a problem?

I am lucky that I can financially afford this hobby but I know plenty of pilots who barely scrape by in life because they couldn't afford the 100k to go to some fancy university. And I'll tell you right now just because thier bank accounts are smaller than some of the internet commandos, that doesn't mean they couldn't fly or build circles around you. I think some of the people in here really need to get off thier high horses and start to understand that money does NOT equal ability or pride.

What a terrible attitude about fellow human beings. It's sad. People are NOT the sum of thier bank accounts.

To much writing only on speculation.

Let´s see if the pruduct proves itself.

Six years ago you could buy kits to build your turbine, NOT ANY MORE. You need certain knowledge to deal with turbines even if they are from a premiun brand. JJ is the only one selling kits.

I hope they will come with a better offer than JJ, since if not what is the point.

In my case I can´t afford a premiun turbine but will jump into one if:
1. The turbine is a proven designg and has relliable parts: (today can say most of them are kj66 upgraded turbines)
2.Availibiliity of spare parts, hell no if you have to send your turbine to china.
3. A relliable fadec with relliable valves and pump.

Probably this wont happen but
4. Trained in turbines online personel to solve minor problems, and in how to adjust your fadec to your location.

Think the price should be in between a JJ turbine and a KINTECH or the new jet munt WM80.

For sure I will not be the BETTA tester and will wait to see what happens.

Changing theme.

We live in a globalized world so we have to accept it and do our best since our neighbor can be any body that lives in this planet.

cheers

I am sure the prices for most turbines will come down if HK throws their product on the market.
But what I want to see is some independent tests. The posted video contains no valuable information.
With lower prices more people will become interested in jets, while I don't see that everyone will just buy one and fly at a park illegally.
I'd like to see more jets around here. Our grass strip is probably to rough for these
But a turbine helicopter would be nice...

Actually, it's "Shizzle" because you can't right "*****" in the forums. I added the "nizzle" for an urban touch.

Turbines from China... what’s next reliable compact auto's with great gas mileage from Japan?

You all know that will be the end of the American automotive industry…..

Now that  thread has calmed down a bit,
I wonder if the real reason SOME jet guys are annoyed about
cheaper turbines being available, is the fact that they will
half the current resale value of their old engines.
